A low displayed price is only one part of an online purchase. A short pre-check can reduce problems with sellers, returns, delivery and warranty claims.

Confirm the product

Match the exact model, size, shade, quantity and included accessories. Similar listings can use almost identical photos while offering different versions. Read specifications and recent reviews, but separate product feedback from complaints about an individual seller or courier.

Review the seller

Check who sells and fulfils the item, the seller rating and whether the brand lists authorised sellers. For expensive electronics, confirm invoice and warranty eligibility before purchase.

Calculate the final price

Include delivery charges, convenience fees, minimum-order requirements and coupon conditions. Bank offers may require a particular card, payment method or transaction amount. Do not count cashback as an immediate discount unless the terms say it is applied at checkout.

Read the return policy

Some beauty, personal-care, jewellery and electronics products may be non-returnable or replacement-only. Note the return window, required packaging and whether installation changes eligibility.

Keep records

• Save the order confirmation and invoice.
• Take a screenshot of important offer terms.
• Record an unboxing video for high-value or fragile purchases when appropriate.
• Contact the retailer promptly if an item is missing, damaged or incorrect.

A good deal is a product that meets the need with acceptable seller, service and return conditions—not simply the largest advertised percentage off.
